I’ve long since pondered the idea that being a human on earth isn’t exactly what it seems. What is we are just one huge intricate game of The Sims and we are just characters being controlled by some other beings. I can’t explain it and I don’t have anything close to proof, but has something ever happened and all you can think is, “this can’t be real.”? At this point, given the current state of the world, life just feels like a simulation. Like an endless set of random situations one after another, just to see what would happen. It’s like during the game, a prompt popped up and asked the player to choose between two presidential candidates and he chose the most ridiculous option just to see how the game would change.

It’s a ridiculous thought, for sure, and probably not what’s really happening. But the thought itself underlines the fact that we just aren’t sure about the workings of the universe, it’s origins, or it’s breadth. We don’t know if the universe has walls, if it’s growing, shrinking, or if it’s infinite. Science and technological advancements have given us a wealth of insights, but there are still so many unknowns. We don’t know if there is other life, we don’t know if other planets are inhabitable. The vastness of space and the uncertainty of its capabilities are scary, yet fascinating.

  1. Although you may think that this is a ridiculous thought or topic in general, I think that you are not alone. As North Carolina rapper J.Cole once said, “Science can tell us how, but it can’t tell us why”. While science has developed and we now know more than ever about the universe and solar system, it’s crazy to think that we’ve barely even scratched the surface. I actually think that ‘Orpheus’ made an interesting parallel, regardless if there’s any proof behind it.
